Dear Robert and Susan,

This is a brief letter to thank you for your brilliant handling of my recent litigation. As you know, I came to you from another attorney who had basically done nothing but let the case sit and fester, consequently putting me in a terrible position just a few months before a scheduled trial, He had no strategy, did no research, and therefore, left me very vulnerable. When I first sat down with both of you, I felt frightened, frustrated and very much alone. Within a few short days, you came up with a well thought out game plan that instantly calmed me down and gave me a sense of hope I hadn't had for quite some time.

In the weeks that followed, you did the equivalent of months and months worth of work, and turned the tone of the case around from one in which I felt like a total victim to one in which I finally had some power. Because of your deep insight into the law, your ability to work well with opposing counsel by being strong but not antagonizing, and your effectiveness in dealing with the judge, you convinced the other side to drop their aggressive stance, and we did settle the lawsuit without my having to pay any money whatsoever to the other party. I consider this a minor miracle considering the individual in question.

Perhaps just as important was the way you interacted with me during what was most certainly one of the most stressful experiences of my life. Your compassion, your patience, your encouragement were invaluable. I felt truly taken care of, watched over and protected. You are not only highly skilled lawyers but caring and kind people who work from their hearts and not just their heads, a combination that, to be blunt, I have not often come across in your profession.

The bottom line, Robert and Susan, is that I have never liked lawyers or dealing with them, but I consider the two of you a true blessing I was given at a time when I really needed it.
